Helen plays grandmother again in 'Bachpan'

Jul 31
Bollywood's former dancing queen Helen will be seen after a long hiatus in debutant director Rajiv Sharma's "Bachpan", a musical family saga seen from the perspective of children.

Said Helen, who plays a grandmother in the film: "The script is simply amazing. When I read it, I was so overwhelmed that I decided I had do it."

She added: "I recently saw the rushes of 'Bachpan' and I immensely liked the way the movie has shaped up."

Sharma had earlier assisted directors like Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Satish Kaushik, and was also a creative director with Firoz Nadiadwala.

He had always visualised Helen playing the character of the grandmother in the film.

The actress has played a grandmother before in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Khamoshi".

"The film begins by exploring storytelling from the viewpoint of kids from the point where 'Taare Zameen Par' ends," said a trade insider who had seen the rushes.

Padmini Kolhapure joins Helen with four talented children in the film.

Shiney Ahuja - the good son

Jul 31
Actor Shiney Ahuja, who will be seen in "Hijack", is busy playing a good son these days. He is set to shift to a new house in Mumbai only for his parents.

"My parents have been living in Delhi and have a different lifestyle. I have decided to move them to Mumbai. I don't want them to miss Delhi and so keeping that in mind, I have bought a house that would make them feel comfortable and at home. My wife agrees with my decision too," said Shiney.

The actor's new house boasts of spacious rooms and a huge balcony, just the way his parents would like it.

Shiney says he had decided long back that if he ever shifts base to Mumbai, he would bring his parents too.

His daughter Arshya is another reason the actor wants to get his parents to live with him.

Since Shiney was close to his grandmother, he does not want his baby girl to miss out on the love of her grandparents.

"The love that I got from my grandmother cannot be put into words. I want my baby to be close to her grandparents so that she can experience the same love. I want my child to relate to my parents' emotional feelings," he said.

I'm single and loving it: Lara Dutta (Interview)

Jul 31
Mumbai, (IANS) Former beauty queen Lara Dutta says she is enjoying her single status and is no hurry to get into a new relationship as work is keeping her really busy.

"I'm blissfully single. There's no one whom I'm even remotely interested in. And I'm in no hurry. After nine years, I'm alone. And I'm enjoying it," Lara, who broke up with he ex-boyfriend Kelly Dorji, told IANS.

"Right now I'm so busy. I'm running around like a headless chicken," the actress said.

Asked about her equation with Kelly, she said: "Wonderful. We've spent so many good years together. No one can take away those from us. Kelly and I know each other too well to drift apart. There's a lot of mutual respect. And that will always remain."

The actress' kitty is full with good projects, which includes Sudhir Mishra's modern version of "Devdas" where she plays Paro.

"Sudhir Mishra's 'Devdas' isn't really a period film. It's very literate and layered and I'd have to dig really deep into myself to play Paro. She is a dark, ambitious and self-destructive character."

Lara is also doing "Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai" with Govinda and "Blue", an out and out action film with Akshay Kumar.

Excerpts from an interview:

Q: How does life look to you?

A: I'm single, happy and I love my life.

Q: How single are you?

A: I'm blissfully single. Every hero I work with, I'm linked with. They've also been trying to link me with some Italian businessman. They found some half-baked picture on the Internet. Rubbish! There's no Italian or Indian boyfriend.

Q: Is it embarrassing to be linked with married men?

A: No! Not when they treat you like a chum. I never let it affect me. I do enjoy the company of men. And I'm not going to get inhibited at the thought of being linked with one of them the next morning.

Q: How's your equation with Kelly Dorji?

A: Wonderful. We've spent so many good years together. No one can take away those from us. Kelly and I know each other too well to drift apart. There's a lot of mutual respect. And that will always remain.

Q: It's hard to keep the respect going when the love ends.

A: It's very natural for the hurt to remain between a couple when a relationship as intense as ours ends. For a while it was natural for both of us to withdraw. But that doesn't stop us from looking out for each other. A relationship as long lasting as ours goes way beyond a romantic notion!

Q: Are you looking out for another relationship?

A: No I'm not. There's no one whom I'm even remotely interested in. And I'm in no hurry. After nine years, I'm alone. And I'm enjoying it. Right now I'm so busy. I'm running around like a headless chicken.

Q: What have you been up to?

A: Besides an Art Of Living course, I've been training vigorously for a film that I'm doing with Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt. After a lot of comedy, I'm finally doing an action film.

Q: Aren't you talking about a film called "Blue"?

A: That's right. It's called "Blue" because the producers wanted to keep it simple. I love working with Akshay. He makes me do the craziest things. If you've seen 'Bhagam Bhag', you'd know what I mean.

Q: "Bhagam Bhag" also had Govinda in it.

A: Yes, and later I did "Partner" with him, though I wasn't paired with him. Now we're together in Ravi Chopra's "Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai". This is one of those rare films where the girl actually has something substantial to do. It's a completely different role, an authorised adaptation of the Hollywood film "My Cousin Vinny". And I play Marisa Tomei's role.

Q: Marisa Tomei got an Oscar for her performance.

A: I'm getting there. It may happen one day.

Q: Good things are happening to you now.

A: I guess everything happens in its own time. Now I'm a little more worldly wise than I used to be. I'm being careful in selecting my roles. I don't want to do films where I'm just a glam girl. Doing so much comedy has given me the confidence to carry off roles where I don't have to be the hot babe all the time.

Q: Is that a disadvantage?

A: Well, the way things are in commercial cinema the ordinary girl walks away with the meatier role. If you look at it, it isn't the glamorous girl that the audience identifies with. It's the simple girl next door who walks away with all the audience sympathy. But when you do comedy you get to be more accessible to the audience.

It's very important for a heroine to connect with the female audience. Comedy allows you that access. And I haven't done anything aggressively glam in the recent past except "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom".

Q: So are you trying to scale down your glamour quotient?

A: Most women don't feel threatened when an actress does comedy. Wives felt that my suspicious wife's role in "No Entry" had a bit of themselves in it. I enjoyed doing comedy. But I want to do films that give me a chance to grow. "Blue" is an action movie and Sudhir Mishra's "Devdas" is a drama... again, unlike anything I've done before.

Q: You play Paro in Mishra's film. He has finally got his Chandramukhi.

A: Yes! I'm so happy Chitrangda Singh is playing Chandramukhi. We've got a wonderful cast. It raises the bar for the entire project. As soon as I finish "Blue" I go into "Devdas".

Q: That's a totally different world.

A: But Sudhir Mishra's "Devdas" isn't really a period film. It is very literate and layered and I'd have to dig really deep into myself to play Paro. Everything I've done so far has been in a lighter fun vein. So far I didn't have to cross over to a darker side. Paro is a dark ambitious self-destructive character. I'm not that person at all.

Q: Are you in a good place?

A: Yes, now I am. I've learnt to focus on my own work. Your greatest competition should be yourself. I'm a labourer in a factory. I keep my nose to the grinding wheel. And I just want to work. My biggest challenge would be Sudhir Mishra's "Devdas".

Indian filmmakers have used Hitchcock cleverly: Columbia professor

Jul 31

New Delhi, (IANS) Remember "Kohra", the 1964 thriller starring Waheeda Rehman and Biswajeet with its memorable soundtrack? It was loosely based on filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock's classics "Rebecca" and "Psycho".

Bollywood has borrowed liberally from Hollywood's master of suspense, says professor Richard Allen, head of the chair of cinema studies in Columbia University.

Hitchcock's stylised cinematography found its way into several thrillers of the 1950s, 60s and 70s in India, says Allen.

"Several filmmakers in Mumbai have adapted Hitchcock's idioms in Bollywood. 'Kohra' apart, there is 'Jewel Thief' starring Dev Anand, which was an Indian remake of 'Vertigo'," Allen told IANS in an interview.

"However, director Vijay Anand also wove in aspects from the Hitchcock thriller, 'To Catch a Thief', with Grace Kelly and Cary Grant in the lead," Allen told IANS over a leisurely lunch.

Allen was in the capital to conduct a two-day workshop "Hitchcock in Bollywood", at the India Habitat Centre. According to him, Hitchcock has been "very skilfully and cleverly used" by Indian filmmakers.

The film writer and critic, who probed the Hitchcockian idiom and style of cinematography in the stylised language in Hindi cinema for two days, has edited two books of essays on Hitchcock.

He is also the co-editor of a publication on the filmmaker, "The Hitchcock Annual". His latest publication is titled "Hitchcock's Romantic Irony."
Hitchcock, explains Allen, was a visual stylist and a commercial filmmaker who provided a model and pretext to filmmakers globally to do the same thing.

"French new wave cinema has drawn the maximum from Hitchcock, along with Bollywood. That fact that Hitchcock was so creative allowed filmmakers to retool his creativity to make their own statements."

However, Hitchcock, warns Allen, is not easy to adapt into Hindi mainstream cinema; it requires dexterity. "Chiefly because of his mastery of the craft of cinema and how he handles matters of human sexuality.

"It is difficult to place it in the context of a Hindi (sic Indian) lifestyle and the appeal of the Bollwyood movies of the 1950s, 60s and 70s," Allen said.

"Jewel Thief", made in 1967, perhaps does Hitchcock the maximum justice in both style and spirit, says Allen.

According to the walking encyclopaedia on Hitchcock, the movie featuring Dev Anand in an enigmatic double role - that of jewel thief Amar and the police commissioner's son Vinay, the lookalike - is distinctly Hitchcockian because of the protagonist's "double identity", one of the master's pet themes.

The nervous breakdown that Dev Anand undergoes impersonating jewel thief Amar is similar to what James Stewart as "detective Scottie" suffers in the movie, "Vertigo". The female lead, Kim Novak, also has a double identity in the murder mystery, which also touches upon a past life recall.

"Moreover, 'Jewel Thief' reflected the emerging consumerist lifestyle of Bollwyood in the 19s0s, the increasing use of the flashy red as a colour and the freedom of sexual choice - all that Hitchcock wove into his plots," Allen said.

For instance, in "Kohra" and "Anamika" - a thriller starring Dino Morea, Minissha Lamba and Koena Mitra made this year - the ghost of the first wife haunts the hero's second wives.

According to Allen, the movies are in the footsteps of "Rebecca", an iconic thriller starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine based on a novel of the same name by Daphne de Maurier published in 1938.

"The appeal of Anamika," said Allen, "lay in its dramatisation."

Plots apart, in the black and white Bollywood thrillers of the 1960s and 70s, cinematographers used Hitchcock's slow and ingenuous camera techniques to convey a sense of the supernatural and the eerie.

One such technique was the "slipping in" effect. Executed through a mirror in "Kohra", it was as if the characters were walking through a mirror and floating out from the other side, Allen explained.

"The sounds in these movies also took off from Hitchcock. The songs seemed to be emanating from another world and enveloping you. And there were strong sexual metaphors that Hitchcock frequently used in the movies.

"Even the conventional Bollywood characters morphed - the role of the husband changed. Movies influenced by 'Rebecca' portrayed husbands as threatening and ambiguous," Allen said.

Citing recent references, Allen recommended movies like "Jab We Met", "Samay" and "Ek Baar" to viewers to get a feel of the Hitchcockian brand of suspense.

Tendulkar to act in a Bollywood film

Jul 31

Mumbai, (IANS) India's master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, who is also the brand ambassador of a slew of products, will make his big screen debut with Marathi film "Vighnaharta Shri Siddhivinayak", which aims to convey a social message.

"Though the movie is about the miracles of the Lord Ganesha, I would rather call it a social than a mythological film. I want the movie to convey a social message of friendship and have it conveyed through the easily-recognised icon, Sachin Tendulkar," Rajiv Singhvi, movie's producer, told IANS.

The movie is devoted to Siddhivinayak Temple, one of Mumbai's most frequented shrines. Subhash Mayekar, the Siddhivinayak Trust chairman, said that they have given entire responsibility to Singhvi's Vista Media to make the movie.

"We will only provide the religious inputs," he informed.

Singhvi revealed that a number of movie stars, mostly from Bollywood, who are devotees of the Lord Ganesha, will make guest appearances in "Vighnaharta Siddhivinayak".

Tendulkar will start shooting as soon as he returns from his cricket tour to Sri Lanka and the film will have voice-over by Amitabh Bachchan.

"I want each one of them to convey a social message through the movie," said Singhvi.

Yashwant Ingle will direct "Vighnaharta Siddhivinayak" and Anil Mohile, a long-time associate of Lata Mangeshkar, will score the music for the movie.

By debuting in a movie, Tendulkar follows a trend set by cricketers like Salim Durrani, Sandip Patil and Ajay Jadeja.

Katrina Kaif looks perfectly matched with Ranbir Kapoor

Jul 31

Mumbai, (IANS) Britain-born actress Katrina Kaif, who has carved a niche for herself in Bollywood with five hits in a row, will now be seen with Ranbir Kapoor in Prakash Jha's political thriller "Rajneeti". The director says they make a perfect pair.

The political saga also stars Ajay Devgan and Manoj Bajpai. Katrina will play Ranbir's love interest.

"I needed an actress who would look convincing as an intelligent, modern and cultured girl of today. Katrina fitted the bill perfectly. She also looks perfectly matched with Ranbir. Not too many of the top leading ladies are compatible with Ranbir," Jha told IANS.

"Katrina is versatile enough to look perfectly matched with Salman (Khan), Akshay (Kumar) and Ranbir. I also like her focussed attitude to her career. Now that she has proved herself successful, there's a hunger to prove herself in roles and projects that aren't considered Katrina's kingdom," the director said.

Katrina is sure making up for lost time and space with Ranbir. After having had her track cut out of Yash Raj Film's "Bachna Ae Haseeno", the duo first signed Rajkumar Santoshi's "Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani" and now they are together in "Rajneeti".

For both the actors, Jha's film is an experience very different from the kind of cinema they've done so far.

Jha, who has made gritty political dramas like "GangaaJal" and "Apaharan", says Katrina's role wouldn't be a mere romantic foil to Ranbir.

"Not at all. She has very powerful dramatic moments in the plot. This role would require Katrina to put all her skills into the active mode."

The fact that Ranbir and Katrina share the same secretary has also expedited her entry into what promises to be a different, more gritty kind of cinema.

"Rajneeti" has an interesting array of star and actors.

Recently, Vivek Oberoi, who was to play one of the leads in this modern day rendering of "Mahabharat" set in a political dynasty akin to the Gandhis, opted out. Arjun Rampal has now replaced him.

"No one is making multi-starrers any more. I think 'Rajneeti' will be the only one in the near future," said Jha.

Rock on! (Music Review)

A Brave Attempt
By Bollyworld4u,
30 July 2008.
First as a director and now as an actor and singer, Farhan
Akhtar seems determined to push the boundaries of his creativity as far as he
can. He has always dared to do the unexpected, and dared to be different. The
three films that he has directed so far are evidence of that. Now, he takes a
new direction as he makes his acting as well as singing debut with debutant
director Abhishek Kapoor's film Rock On. The music of the film has been composed
by Shankar Ehsaan Loy and the lyrics have of course been written by father Javed
Akhtar. The film's music is naturally rock, and the composers have done a fairly
good job in the album. The surprise element is, of course, Farhan, who reveals a
different side to him altogether. He may not be the best of singers, but he
displays talent and passion in the manner in which he renders the numbers. Out
of a total of nine numbers in the album, five of them have been sung by him.

The opening number of the album is a number called 'Socha Hai' which has
been rendered by Farhan. It is a typical rock number, which opens with the sound
of the electronic guitar. The song's words are simple and yet very catchy. The
music of this number too is very catchy and racey. It is very easy on the ears
and is bound to catch on with repeated hearings. Farhan sings it very well
indeed.
The second number of the album, 'Pichle Saat Dinon Mein', comes in
two versions, one of which is a live version. This is Farhan's second song in
the album and this too begins with the sound of the guitar. Again, what really
works for the song are its lyrics, which again reveal Javedsaab's genius in
being able to write words for every kind of genre. The song has lazy, laidback
style and mood to it, which is enhanced by Farhan's style of singing. The number
has some very good work on the guitar. The refrain of 'na na na na' after every
stanza, makes the song very catchy. Its 'live version' has a few added elements
to it. The experience of hearing this song is bound to be further enhanced by
the manner in which it has been picturised in the film. It begins with the
refrain of 'na na na na'. Farhan appears like quite a pro with this
number.
The title track, 'Rock On' is up next, again sung solo by Farhan. The
rock mood continues. This number seems to lack the punch that the previous two
numbers had. Farhan does a good job but the song lacks a distinctive attitude.
Hence, despite being very well written, it does not have the required impact.
Next comes one of the best songs of the album, which is a number called 'Ye
Tumhari Meri Baatein' sung by Dominque Cerejo. It is a soft rock number, with a
romantic feel to it. Carejo sings it with feeling and her soft, husky vocals
work very well for the song.
Suraj Jaggan's Zehreelay is the weakest number
in the album. It is an out and out rock number, with pumped up vocals and high
voltage music, but it just doesn't work. Suraj has a very good voice and gives
the song his all, but cannot salvage the number. Farhan's 'Tum Ho' makes its
appearance in the album right after Zehreelay and the singer has really excelled
in this number. This is also a very romantic number, with very simply, yet
touching lyrics. It keeps the rock mood alive but with a softer touch. A very
good effort by Farhan and the composers.
The next song has a very unusual
title, 'Sinbad The Sailor'. The number sees Raman Mahadevan join Farhan behind
the mike. It celebrates the spirit of an adventurer and salutes the pioneering
spirit with the similie of Sinbad, the sailor. Again, a simple yet moving lyrics
by Javedsaab. Both the singers jam well and come up with a very catchy
number.
The album ends with Caralisa Monteiro's 'Phir Dekhiye'. This is
another slow number. She gets a great opportunity to display her histrionic
behind the mike as the song is rendered with just a guitar being strummed in the
background. It is pleasing and soothing on the ears.
For those who are
expecting more of the same from Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, this will be a
disappointing outing. But for the discerning listener, this album has enough
gems to make for a great listening experience. The film is, after all, about a
rock band, hence that is the kind of music which has been composed by the music
directors. Of course, one is not sure about how many takers there are for that
kind of music. But it has to be said that most of the songs in this album are
easy on the ears, simple, and sung very well indeed. It's a great attempt by the
composers and the singers.

Ugly Aur Pagli (music review)

It's An All Out Winner
By
Bollyworld4u, 30July 2008.

If nothing else, then the title of this film is bound to pique one's curiosity. PNC's Ugly Aur Pagli starring Ranvir Shorey and Mallika
Sherawat, has music composed by Anu Malik, with lyrics by Amitabh Verma. If the music of film is anything to by, then the film promises to be entertaining. The music of the film is contemporary, catchy and pleasing on the ears. Kudos to Anu Malik, who seems to be going from strength to strength in his second innings.
Incidentally, one of the highlights of this album is that it sees Malik's daughter, Anmol making her playback debut.
In fact the album opens with the number 'Talli' sung by Anmol, Mika and Hard Kaur. The number has two other versions as well, one of which is a remix. It has a club feel to it. This is an
out and out fun number, which is bound to hit the top of the charts. Hard Kaur's style of rap along with Anmol and Mika's high voltage singing makes this number a total winner. The remixed version of this number keeps the tempo going. The man behind the remix DJ Amyth does a very good job indeed of keeping the mood of the film going. In fact, he takes the number a step ahead and makes it an even more dhamaal number. The third version of this number has Anu Malik keeping Hard Kaur company. Malik does a good job with the song but this version truly belongs
to Hard Kaur.
Anushka Manchanda and Ishq Bector come together for the second number of this album called 'Karle Gunaah'. This number picks up the baton from the previous number left of. It has a very sensuous feel to it, which is enhanced by Anushka's rendition. Bector does a very good job on this song. But it is a number which has Anushka written all over it. The beginning of the song,
the tabla which leads into the sing, is quite interesting. In all, another number, which is sure to burn the dance floors. It has a remixed version as well, again courtesy DJ Amyth. The remixed version does not do better than the original though the tempo does increase, but the feel of the song is lost in the remix.
The third number in the album is called 'Yeh Nazar' and has been rendered by Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan. A very typical Anu Malik number. It deceives because of the way it has been arranged. But it has a strong melodic base. Both the singers are veterans and do a very competent job. It ends very well. It is different from the first two numbers which are very catchy on first hearing itself. This number is bound to catch up to, but with a couple of hearings.
The next number in the album is called 'Shut Up, Aa Nachle'. It has a strong Spanish influence to it. It begins with a piece in Spanish which is sung by Malik himself. Vasundhara Das keeps him company for the most part of the song. Midway through the song, Punjabi beats add a zing to the number. Singer Dibyendu Mukherjee appears briefly in the song. But it is for most part Malik's
number. It has a zing to it and is quite catchy as well.
Romance makes its appearance in the album with a 'Yaad Teri Aaye' sung by Mohit Chauhan, who has already made a name for himself in films with 'Tum Se Hi' from Jab We Met, last year. Of course, he has already made a name for himself with numbers like 'Dooba Dooba Rahta Hoon'. He continues his magic with this number as well. It is a number which is pure composition as there is hardly any accompanying instrument, except of course for the guitar. Mohit croons the song in his special style which gives it an wonderful intimate feeling. It is a soulful number, where the lyricist finally gets a chance to write something which is poetic. But the real poetry is in the music and the fantastic rendition by Mohit. This number really changes the fun and party mood which went before. It is a number which asks to be heard again and again. And it improves with every hearing.
The music of Ugly Aur Pagli is truly contemporary with some really fun, crazy tracks. And yet
it is not a light effort. The one number by Mohit Chauhan lifts the album to different level altogether. It kind of completes the album, where Malik has depicted every kind of mood with his music. This album is a winner and full credit of that should go to Malik. A great effort.

Wednesday

Producer: Anjum Rizvi, Shital Bhatia
Director: Neeraj Pandey
Writer : Neeraj Pandey
Release : Date 05-Sep-2008
Cast: Anupam Kher, Aamir Bashir, Deepal Shaw, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajpal Yadav, Jimmy Shergill
"WEDNESDAY" tells the story of certain events that unfold between 2 and 6 pm on a particular Wednesday – events which do not exist in any record but which deeply effects the lives of those involved.
Prakash Rathod, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai (played by Mr Anupam Kher) gets a call demanding the release of four militants in lieu of information on bombs that the man has planted in various parts of the city. At first, Prakash suspects it to be a crank call but his doubts are dispelled once he actually finds a bomb planted in the police station right opposite his Police Headquarters.
Now Prakash Rathod is in a real dilemma. Should he release the militants? Militants who have been caught at the cost of lives of police officers in the first place? Militants who are responsible for unaccountable damage to civilian lives and property? Militants who will cause further damage in the coming years, if let go scott free? Or should he just think of all the innocent people who will die today if he decides not to let them go?
Prakash Rathod is not a man who would give up so easily. He gets a team of his best men together and taps all his resources – he was going to leave no stone unturned in his mission to track down the man. He even hires a 17 year old hacker to help his team trace the calls and hence the location of this man.
Meanwhile, he comes across Naina Roy, a wannabe-something news channel reporter (played by Ms Deepal Shaw) who also has been tipped off by an anonymous caller. Time passes without any concrete results on the identity of the caller. As a backup plan, he puts two of his best men, Arif and Jai (played by Jimmy Sheirgill and Amir Bashir respectively) to hand over the four militants. It is then that events take a bizarre turn.
Suddenly, everything becomes a huge question mark. Who is this man? What is his identity? What are his intentions and what is the motive behind them? The caller (played by Mr Naseeruddin Shah) then reveals his true identity and answers these questions, raising some more in the process...

Rab ne bana di jodi

Aditya chopra’s latest venture rab ne bana di Jodi is being eagerly awaited by millions. He is all set to be back in the limelight with this new promising project of his. He is putting on the director’s cap after 8 yrs. His last directorial venture was mohabbatein starring shahrukh khan. Aditya chopra will make his new movie rab ne bana di jodi under the banner of “yash raj films” this time. The viewers are definitely hoping a visual treat. His legendary first movie diwale dulhaniya le jayenge has still not been forgotten by anyone. It created a record breaking history in bollywood. This movie again has shahrukh in it, which surely will be a major publicity factor for it. The combination of aditya chopra and shahrukh khan has proven to be a hit in the past.
As already mentioned shahrukh khan is the main hero of the movie. The female counterpart is yet to be finalized. The leading lady opposite to shahrukh will be a fresh new face. The search has already started for the new face who can fit the role in a perfect manner. It surely will be a dream debut for that lucky girl to be acting with aditya chopra and shahrukh khan together in one film. Aditya chopra will also be writing the script for this movie along with direction. The shooting of the movie will believed to commence from may 2008. aditya chopra is planning to rope in salim-sulaiman for the music of this movie. Salim- sulaiman have created good music in the past.
We can enjoy this movie mostly by the end of 2008, which is when it is expected to release. This is a good time for the release of the movie because of the holiday season for many of us.Aditya chopra had by choice taken this 8 year long break from direction. He was certainly not wasting time or talent doing nothing. He had been engaged in setting up the first studio model in India, which definitely would take “yash raj films” places. Simultaneously he was also busy with a lot of production activities. The movies which were produced under him over the recent past are hum tum, fanaa, salam namaste to name a few. He was the creative director of these movies. Along with all this he also had written many scripts in movies like veer zaara which was yash chopra’s directorial project. We surely are hoping for another record breaking movie just like dilwale dulahaniya le jayenge which still is been shown in theatres in Mumbai. The duo shahrukh khan and aditya chopra are all set to create magic once again.

Munnabhai chale america

Well every body heard of the name munnabhai and circuit. Every movie freak loved the 1st in the series munnabhai mbbs.It wasn’t enough, and then came the second which was bigger and larger than the first, not in size though but in entertainment Lage raho munna bhai. And from that moment people were craving for more. Now tell me who wouldn’t cash on this situation. So next in the series is all about our munna bhai going to America.
Trailer of movie: Munna Bhai Chale Amerika is out and Munna Bhai (Sanjay mama) and Circuit (Arshad) are seen learning English as they are leaving to America in this movie. There is a perfect comedy strip in the trailer and that helps the audience to get the exact idea about the movie is, how it is going to be for sure. Our very own people in Andhra Pradesh might be reminded of a comic character called parvateesham who sets off to a similar voyage to not America but to London.
Munna Bhai, with an history in impressing and influencing spectators with its so called performaces has set standard in both the first and the second part of the series. His shirts are also refreshingly good colored, and sanju looks really good in them. And after all the talk about the hero and the supporting hero how on earth can we forget about the actress?? Well the choice of actress in the movie is also to be talked off! The first movie had Gracy Singh, who was really graceful. Pleasing smile good personality ability to act and what not. Well, the first one was good, the second one even better. And I’m talking about none other than the gorgeous Kerala beauty Vidya Balan. She was terrific in the movie. After the great success of the the Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Munna Bhai MBBS , Munna bhai rose to become a brand name and this lead to whole new Munna Bhai sequels like James Bond or Harry Potter series. Now the originator Mr.Vidhu Vinod Chopra and the director being Mr.Raj Kumar Hirani have resumed performance on the third branch of the continuation Munna Bhai Chale America, plus they are all set to give the audience something more for sure.
The breathtaking idea to transport the two lead characters in the US took shape when the director Rajkumar Hirani saw that Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi were sitting together in a golf-cart in US. The contemplation of two jigri‘bhais’ being transported to US took Hirani’s picture. When Dutt came to be acquainted with this particular idea, he liked it a great deal and asked Hirani to definitely make a film lying on it. This is how Munnabhai Chale Amerika was born.

Fauj Mei Mauj

The movie Fauj Mein Mauj is being produced by Ravi Walia and is written by Farhad. It’s all about a woman joining a male regiment. The movie is a comedy flick, which is sure to tickle your funny bone. The basic theme of the story seems to be what happens when a sexy lady joins in an all-male cavalry. Mallika sherawat joins the army after her husband’s death and there she becomes a distraction to all the men in the cavalry.
The movie casts Mallika Sherawat, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Sharat Saxena, Asrani, Lillete Dubey, Himani Shivpuri, Mukhesh Rushi. The music of the movie is composed by Pritam Chakroborthy. The cinematography is taken care of Om Prakash.
The release of the movie is delayed as there was a discrepancy among the director Murali Nagavalli and the producer Ravi Wallia. Financial crisis is another reason for the delay of the movie. However, the main reason is, stars including Mallika Sherawat, Paresh rawal etc and the producer himself was not happy with the director’s efforts. The diector Murali Nagvalli is outcasted from the movie and a new director Sanjay Chhel is appointed. It is being talked that the entire movie will be again shot from scratch; hope the director’s work assuages the star’s and producer’s visions.
Mallika Sherawat has sadly been committed only to guest appearances in most of the movies in 2007. Apparently, all the movies turned out good at box office. Welcome, Guru, Aap Ka Suroor are some of the biggest hits in 2007 and have one thing in common i.e Mallika Sherawat. The only movie in which she is palying a lead role is Fauj Mein Mauj 2007.
FIRST POSTER OF THE MOVIE:The movie is being postponed from a very longtime and finally, one good news for all the Mallika Sherawat fans out there, the poster of the movie is released. The names of the stars Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav are imprinted on either side of the name Mallika Sherawat in between. (in pink). Two planes will be flying in the sky and the smoke coming out of them depicts Mallika Sherawat’s ASSETS. The poster seems quite creative; it hints that there will be a lot of it in the movie, quite tempting for all the guys and hard core fans of Mallika Sherawat.
